During this time of painting, I began to fully embrace a process of going into a painting with no intention and making sense of free flowing scribbles. I would take pastel and let my hand freely flow across the canvas. I would then step back and find things I would see on the canvas. This scene seems somewhat reminiscent of Venice, Italy but the dark colors and scratchy texture give it a feeling of overlooming unrest.
